I turn to you with a request to help me find my father, Norbert TUNE.
He emigrated under this name from Poland on November 3, 1946. He was using this name as well while corresponding with my mother from November 1946 till the end of 1947.
During the Second World War, my parents lived in Lwow (Lvov), Poland where they married in 1945.
At that time, his name was Tadeusz ZIEMBA. He changed his name and emigrated. The search for my father through the Central Address Office as well as through the Polish Red Cross ruled out the possibility of his presence in Poland under the name of ZIEMBA or TUNE. However, despite many further requests made to the Polish Red Cross (P.C.K.) they did not extend the search beyond the Polish border.
Vital aid in finding my father could come from a person named: Ichnet KILNE, whose name appeared in the address my father gave to my mother during their correspondence in 1947. From his correspondence, it was unclear as to whether this name was yet another name he planned to take on, or the name of his friend, as my father emigrated with a group of young Jews.
I'll give you the addresses I have kept that my father used during the course of his emigration:
1946 - Austria, Vienna 17 Rupertus Platz-1 (this is a town address-unusual as most camps were outside of town) UNRRA camp (United Nations Refugee Area Camp-usually outside of town) Team 350 Norbert TUNE
1946 - December - Austria, Linz Wegszeid Team 337
C/o Camp Tyler Barak 43 (orrack 43) Norbert TUNE
1947 - January - Oberosterreich (Upper Austria), Saalfelden
Jewish Camp
D.P. Giwot Awoda (D.P. : Displaced Persons)
Barak 31 (orrack 31)
Norbert TUNE / Ichnet KILNE
1947 February-March - Oberosterreich, Saalfelden D.P. Jewish-Camp
Blok 4 (=Block 4) Norbert Tune
1947 April-October - Milano, A.D. Adriatte
UNRRA Camp, Italy
Norbert TUNE
After this date, correspondence ceased, but I know from my mother that father planned to emigrate further to the United States, Canada, Argentina, Australia or what was then known as Palestine. Unfortunately, I have no further details. Thank you for any information.
Please send my any information by email: Brylanna Ziemba
