I have decided that its a bad pack and have killed it, but much I have learned from what little I did make of it... for those of you who acctualy looked forward to it, well buckle up cuz I've hit the "good Idea" mother load, a new "diffrent" level pack, bigger, better, and well, inspired by duke-nukem... so get ready for the unnamed mission pack ala Half-Life, I've got 2 names so far: Mayberry RFD, and Culture on the Rocks, though Mayberry RFD will probably be the final name, I won't say another word about it, but the screen shot page will be updated eventualy with some hints... heres to WWF, my you live dormant untill I can raise you from your slumber... (in other words after OpFor comes out...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...ehem...) Tuesday Sept 28: Long time no update, thats because I've been co-making a QOOLE user web site, since I don't know HTML I don't do news there or nothing, just work on getting folks around, I handle File subbmissions and so on, I also do the Tutorials, the first one is on basic texture editing. I've really not had the time to work on any levels, but I did manage to aquire a new (new to me) used car (don't laugh) its acctualy a Van, but thats ok, I'm not picky since I don't have to pay anything for it. Not even gas, as its free too! (parents!!!!) What little mapping I did was a small room in a small cave ending though its very elabate and is very inter active, theres a breakable lightbulb, and and a small sign, that says "Danger, high Voltage" but heres the kicker, when you shoot it, it swings back and forth! I plan on having every little object, from door hinges to exit signs, interactive I really like the 'GoldenEye' feel in your invronment. If you've ever played it then you'd know that even the important swiches and gadgets and lights, and pipes, and hats, could be shot up and played with. Thats the realisim I'm going for. Also by tomarow I will have finished reading the Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton which reminds me so much of Half-Life in the Lab Since, so I HAVE to make a small level just like the description of WILDFIRE. Ok nuff said, and if you are wondering where the QOOLE site is, sorry, not quite ready for public eyes... Friday sept 10: Wow, 9/9/99, and I passed it up without a hint. Oh well, I gave all my playtesters and unfortunately bad quality pre-beta of wwfreeman, they will have a head ach for a while, I know I do. The story has changed, but only ever so slightly. You no longer explore the vast town of mayberry, as when I did make it, it turned into poo. So now when you get out of the river you find something that up until the 'incodent at black messa' lay undisturbed. Its realy spooky too, but it reveals some more truth of what everone wonders about black messa, why? (why did the aliens realy attack, and why was gordan chased around by the US army, lets just say it wasnt because of the test chamber... Um, I droped the cool cd music Idea since columbia won't respond to my e-mails. Ok, as soon as the beta has been run through the filter of my playtesters, then I will get it out to you guys, though It won't be final. oK thats all for today, check the screen shot page! Saturday Sept 4 I belive: Howdy you all, Long time no see, but I kept my promiss, no updates for a week. That gave me more time to worrie about school (which once there I worrie about weather or not I dicconected from ICQ or not) boy oh boy has my .wad grown last week it contained 15 custom texures and today its at a astounding 52, prety neat ehh? I'm not a very good texure art guy but I get along, I got my in game production logo's going, I'll I need to do now is animate the senery a bit and I'll have a top notch credit/ intro scene. I need a modeler for a 3d atomic explosion, you can see why on on the screen shot page at the last shoot. Sunday, Aug 19: All righty than, Looks as though My Level for Action Half-Life just might make the offical map ranking, as me and the web master got off to a good foot. That gets my mojo running babay. So much infact that I added some more sublevels to the big level areas, that have not been built yet. My system works like this, Make the intro, the frist sub level or 2 then then make the ending or at least think and draw it out on paper then make all of the micro sublevels that are only half a k. Then model the main maps to fit the gaps, then It should flow very good. While I'm on the sub level rampage, would any one like to make a pickup truck with a hollowed out snow-roof...? any body? This will be a huge part of the level pack so having your prefab being the highlight of the event could be vary rewarding, well maybe not, but would still be neat. If would do have the skills to make a truck-prefab, note this is civilan, like a chevy full-sized kinda thing, just with a covered bed,(which you will think very fondly of once you play the level) If you would be interested in making this truck, you can e-mail me with a sample truck at buddy@ticnet.com (note the sample truck would be similar to what would be the final truck but it dosen't need to be textured, as I will make those (If I can that is). Wed, Aug 25: WOW! a whole week later.. HEhe, I chcecked the site every day though, just to busy with a pet project That just couldent stay away Thik Action Half-Life + Blade-Runner + 5th element= "sector Five, 2745 #1" Its small arena-almost, no, not arena, just open... I used only texures I've made with WWFreeman, so thats cool, I've got 2 versons of the ending to wwfreeman today cooked up in my mind, you can give the school system thanks for that. I'm trying to get "The Theme From 'A Summer Place'" for the back ground music, Its by Percy Faith. The ending(s) will work like Resident Evil, I know you've played at least the first one. I won't give them away though, but each one is totaly diffrent in EVERY aspect, In one you even die..For good...Along with some-one you know, and love to hate. Oopps to much info. Till next time. Monday, aug 16: Ahh, another weekend has gone and past, and Some new portions to my level set.. I may or may not drop the current train robbery part, I may keep it but not have it a robbery. (I hate this keybord, too small) I have neet cargo jet scene though, you have to hold ground (air preshure sucking you out the back.) while taking care of some grunts, and helicoppters that swing your way. And the Joes cafe is complete, its realy neat, not special, but neat. A pic is or will be on the shoot page with it. Thursday, good day: Hip Hip hurray, got my new Hard Drive (7.5 gig, not to big, but not small either, and it was free!) up and running, tought my self in 1 hour how to fdisk, format and copy another HD to it and successfully run windows. Now I've got 2 more games in my 20 er so collection to put in, Blood 2 and sin... the rather largger ones. Though HL is still on the 1-gig. Now, that left umm no time for qoole (my level editor of choice, but only because I've used it since quake1, dose any one realy like world craft? be honest with your self now.) Ok, durring this installation I managged to whipe out word. uuggg more tomarow Wensday, day one of being a Juinor in H/S: Ahh, fudge sickles... Schools back and that means less time for my level, damn system they don't understand that others have feelings too. oh well.. Ok back to the sureal life here from 4-9 pm... Ok school provided me with 15 drawings of top down veiws for some levels and a ending script. The only worthy class to make me stop doodling was the c++ class but thats at 2:30 my last class... now latter on this year I could write that new windows explorer I've always dreamed of... and maybe a 3d .bsp instant veiwer or something, or my own level editor... thats like w/c but also like qoole, ahh, maybe...not... any way the layout for the town of mayberry is complte, thanks to school. a hidden level/ castle thats haunted...(Just saw the haunting, realy good.) ok thats too much already... till next time, heres looking at you, the player. oh yes, get a p3, and visit intl (not advertising, just sugesting) online, some kick arse free software, just got the disk with several hours worth of cool downloads, in seconds... Any way, that leaves only two areas in my home state of texas that I have not been too, the south west and the north west. And whats up with the blair whitch project? any one know? is it based on a true story or is it just ultra low budget? it reminds me of a trip to my backyard. I got lost once try'n to mow, but I fallowed the trail of freshly cut grass back to the back door. other than that just a bunch of neat texurs for wwfreeman and not much elese... Thursday, Aug 5: Me and my freinds just put the finsihing tuches on our Alien spoof short intitled: Tele-Terror so I've not had a chance to update here. Tuesday, Aug 3: Ok I've been real busy level editing and started jumping ahead to latter areas of my level set last night, so now I have my padded cell-block area done, before schedual, but that took away from updating here, ewww... Any way, I have two new shots at the screen page, though one is a maybe shot of a baseball field out in a corn field, hence the reason it may not make it. "Is this heaven," "No, its Black Messa," "It sure looks like heaven." Note: Ok, I know I put ok at the beging of every paragraph, so sue me. ok. Sat, july 31: Ok I know that the shots page has a broken picture, I'm working on that now, and will have two new shots very soon, probably tomarow or tonight. Day 1 friday, july 30: "FristShot today, I posted it up top so that its the frist thing that you see.., that and I don't know html that well yet... so I'm still trying to figure out how to operate it" Info on wwfreeman OK now that you've seen the error filed screen shots page, I bet your wandering whats diffrent about this level set then those other levels at sites like 3d Map Realm ( http://3dmr.gamedesign.net ) ? Well unlike many of the fine maps that are reviewed at map sites, this particular set will be revolved around whole new interactive caracter, a whole new X-files like story line, complete with A river rapids ride, the frist look inside the apache, inside info of the location of the Black Messa Hockey arena, and many other unexplained situations like what happend to your cousin Gordan, a complete single player/Deathmatch/teamplay level set all in one, with custom .pak files and new sounds, actual vocal interaction with other caractes like John the Scientist up at the Mayberry County Justice Department. And yes you get to Rob a train, hijack a cargo jet, destroy black messa, and discover the truth about what really happend in that test chamber. |
