Due to an ongoing cycle of over-manufacturing, there are hundreds of
companies nation-wide who are flooded with overstocked, surplus,
and distressed merchandise in their warehouses. These companies
must liquidate millions of dollars worth of top quality "distressed"
merchandise. Each month at only a percentage of actual cost, this
merchandise is offered in order to make room for newly manufactured
products.

Much of this merchandise is bought by wholesale clubs and discount
stores that make HUGE profits by marking up the prices and reselling
these products to the general public. People shop at these stores not
realizing that the items they're buying were once considered
"distressed".

For years, only wholesalers that would buy in large quantities (and
individuals with special "insider connections") were able to take
advantage of the MASSIVE savings affiliated with acquiring
discount/distressed merchandise directly from the manufacturer.
