Summary of The Story 'The Rain Came'
The Tribe called 'The Luo' had a ruler called Labong'o and out of 20 children he only had 1 girl, who was named Oganda. Labong'o cared so much about his tribe but he also cared alot about Oganda, so when he was told by his ancestors the only way they could get rain was if he sacrificed Oganda to the lake monster. Labong'o had to put the tribe first so Oganda went down to the lake, where the lake monster lives according to 'The Luo' so Oganda was just about to throw herself into the lake when her lover Ocinda, who her parents did not want her to marry, came in a cloak and cover himself and Oganda with it. They both escaped out of the lake but they could not go back to the tribe. The rain still came even though Ocinda was not eatin by the lake monster.

The Tribe
The people in thr tribe were called 'The Luo' and Labong'o was the ruler. He ruled better than ever when Oganda, his only daughter out of his 20 children was around. He always put the interests of his tribe above everything, he even sacrificed his only daughter Oganda for his tribe. The Tribe all had huts to stay in. They also had a messenger who could be told to beat the drum. The Tribe were all very friendly to each other.

Way Of Life
 
The Beliefs
Everyone has a seperate hut. All the wives of Labong'o share the cooking. Every generation of the family lives in the compound.
 
The Luo believed that they had a lake monster in the lake and to get rain they had to sacrifice the person who was chosen by the ancestors. The customs.
