Our saga begins roughly about 10,000 years ago. At that time we were known as the 12th Fleet, one out of 38 Fleets belonging to the Ancients (the Gate-builders). We were stationed in the Andromeda Galaxy along with the 8th & 18th Fleets under the command of Star Admiral Semaj Nosredna. Then one day we received orders to check and see if the report of a gate, rumored to have entered the edge of the galaxy, was indeed true or not. We found the large Gate drifting through space, thus affirming the report, and we soon realized that this gate was not built by the Alterans (what we call ourselves). After briefing our superiors of what we found, our new mission was to check out this new gate, find out where it leads, who made it (the Ori perhaps?), and anything else we could find out about it. The Gate only had one destination on it, which we dialed, and then our fleet, commanded by Fleet Admiral Giarc Avarion, traveled through the Gate to the other side. When none us ever returned or reported back to the High Command, they deemed the Gate as dangerous, thus never sending us any support. Ever since (as we later found out) we have been referred to and known as "The Lost Fleet". |
Once on the other side the Gate, we found ourselves in a part of the universe that was unfamiliar to our people, plus none of our navigation systems recognized any of the stars. To make matters worse, the Gate on this side looked just like the other except it had no symbols on it; we tried in vain to try to dial back to one of our galaxies, but the Gate was one way. We could not communicate back to the High Command of our predicament because our communication system cannot reach that far. So we began traveling in search of a way to get back familiar territory (and thus home), exploring and mapping out this part of the universe along the way. We never made it back. One year to the day of entering into the Gate, we found ourselves right back where we started, next to the Gate, even though we had traveled millions of light years away from it. In addition, all of our data from the past year had been erased. In the years that followed, we concluded that we are stuck in an annual Time Loop of an Alternate Universe. Every year (for the past 10,000 years) time restets itself and we start over, with all of our records, all that we build, and any other accomplishments from the past year are gone. Even any deaths or loses from the past year are restored, and we are the same age as when we left; only our memories of those years survive. We have tried everything to try to leave this place, we have traveled at max speed in every direction, we have searched for another gate, we have built other gates; but nothing works every year we find ourselves right back where we started, next to what we have started calling the “ChaosGate”, never once leaving this Chaos. |
Since our stay here in the Chaos, we have began to notice more and more people each year. As time has past more people have discovered the Chaosgate and have fallen into its trap. One group of these that we found in about our 120th time loop, was a lone squadron of Furlings (one of our Allies), who have since attached themselves to our fleet. They told us of what had happened shortly after we left the universe that we knew, about the plague that had spread throughout our people the Alterans (Ancients), and the mass Ascension of our brethren. It was at this point that we realized that we may very well be the last of the unascended Alterans, with the High Council now gone; we decided to keep the old tradition of our people alive and appointed our own from the fleet. Now our Mission is to try to bring order and stability to the Chaos, and teach the younger races while we survive another year. As we continue to unlock its secrets (where did it come from, and how do we get back to reality? etc.), hoping one day to reunite with our Ascended brethren. Join our trek through another year... |
