Hello I am Airman Penneau of Squadron nine. I live in Westhampton beach and before now I never knew that the civil air patrol even existed. The reason a lot of the squadrons have so few cadets is because of the lack of effort to advertise the civil air patrol. This Organization is great to learn new things to increase your intellect and social skills and also to meet people with interests much the same as your own.

For those of You checking out this site because you are interested in knowing what the Civil Air Patrol is about I'll outline it here but if you want more complete information go to www.CAPnhq.com this will give you a more professional point of view on the organization. I am only writing from a cadet’s point of view.

The first of many things you learn in civil air patrol is Leadership. This helps to improve not only how well you teach others but also how well you learn. You also learn integrity and why teamwork is important

To stress the objective of teamwork you perform drill in a mass formation or in small flights. The harder you work and the better you work together the better you will get at this and the more professional you will look.

Since most people cannot tell the difference between the air force uniform and our uniforms we need to wear them proudly and with honor. I have been in the Civil air patrol a little over three months. Like many cadets in my squadron I am dedicated and hard working.

Another reason to join the civil air patrol is for those people intending on joining the service it teaches military discipline and helps to keep you physically fit.

Remember to always under all circumstances follow the honor code and the oath:

CIVIL AIR PATROL HONOR CODE: I will not lie cheat nor steal or tolerate any one among us who does.

CIVIL AIR PATROL OATH: I pledge that I will serve faithfully in the civil air patrol cadet program. To Attended meetings regularly, to participate actively in unit activities, to obey my officers, to wear my uniform properly, and to advance my training and education rapidly to prepare my self to be of service to my community state and nation.

I’m not sure if that is word for word but that is basically what they are. I am also soon (how soon is not yet to be determined) going to add a part to honor the air force and am going to set up a gallery of Photos of our squadron.

Despite what it may seem the Civil Air patrol is not all military and game faces. There are times where we laugh and play games. We joke around.(and yes some times even taunt others.) But we are when it comes down to the bare bone truth as much as some people to admit is We are all Friends.
