Rhode Island Colony

The colony of Rhode Island was founded in 1636 by Rodger Willams. The reason this colony was founded was that Rodger Willams live in Massachusets and wanted religious freedom for himself and others so he founded Rhode Island Southwest from the Massachusets Bay colony.

The climate of Rhode Island has a cool climate during the summer and a cold climate during the winter. The geography rhode island is hilly and has rocky clay soil.

The farming industries wasn't very popular because of the cold climate and bad soil. Making the ship building, trading, and cattle and dairy farming very popular. Also even though there weren't that many slaves in Rhode Island, its many ports made it one of the biggest slave trding centers in the colonies.
