Cockatiels are a great first time pet for all ages. It is best to purchase either a hand reared or a very young bird.
If you are planning to breed them you need to have an aviary with a nest box and of course, the birds. If you just want an affectionate pet, you can keep a cockatiel in a cage in the house. However, you will need to let your bird out to fly around and strech its wings in a room with all windows, curtains and doors shut. |
