End of the world is on the way!
On June 1, 2000 at 00:00 (Midnight) PST the final war will begin on the Apprentice, Ager 1, and Ager 2 servers. It will be a 24-hour battle and will end June 2, 2000 at 00:00 (Midnight) PST. Far from a whim, the servers need to be reset every 3 or 4 months not only as the climax to the current game, but also to clear out the server information that has compiled (and produces lag). If the players break the seals in time such that the players set the Armageddon in motion, then the Armageddon casters names will be placed in the Hall of Immortals. The top ten mage names will be placed in the Hall of Immortals in either case. If you want to be an Armageddon caster you will need to be aware of the time you have left to cast Armageddon and calculate accordingly. Any breaking of seals before the scheduled Armageddon that you see on your event scroll are done by the players. The scheduled reset will not show any seals being broken except when we, the admins, break the seventh seal. This Armageddon is unstoppable and killing of Armageddon casters during the final week will not affect the impending doom. On June 15, 2000 at 00:00 (Midnight) PST the final war will begin on the Server 1, Server2, Blitz 1, Blitz 2, and Blitz 3 servers. It will be a 24-hour battle and will end June 16, 2000 at 00:00 (Midnight) PST. The reason that the Apprentice and Ager servers are resetting sooner than the faster servers is that from now on they are on the 4 month yearly schedule. This has been planned well in advance and can be referenced in the Evolution of Terra The Rest Schedule. The faster servers are moving toward a 3-month schedule and will be on that schedule in October. To get them on this schedule and acclimate the players to this, we decided to make this reset the stepping stone. That is to say, instead of a 4-month then a 3-month reset, they have two 3.5-month games. In October all the servers will reset as it will have been 4 months for the slower servers and 3.5 for the faster. From October on, the yearly schedule will look like this: Apprentice, Ager 1, and Ager 2 October 1, 2000 February 1, 2001 June 1, 2001 October 1, 2001 etc. Server 1, Server2, Blitz 1, Blitz 2, and Blitz 3 October 1, 2000 January 1, 2001 April 1, 2001 July 1, 2000 October 1, 2001 etc. BUT WAIT BEAD, you say. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE PLAYERS CAST ARMAGEDDON AND BREAK THE SEVENTH SEAL? Good question. Here is the answer: If the players cast Armageddon successfully, it depends on when in the current time line it occurs. If it occurs before the server is at the halfway point (50%), then the next reset will be the same as scheduled. If it is after the 50% mark, then the next scheduled reset will be one past the current. For example: If the date is November 28, (the last reset was October 1), and the server is Apprentice then the next reset is still January 1. On the other hand, if the date is December 2, (the last reset was October 1), and the server is Apprentice then the next reset is April 1. This is because the halfway point is 2 months. Using this system, the shortest amount of time that a server will ever have is if a fast server resets before the 50% mark, then it will have about a month and a half (this is in the very unlikely event that the players on a fast server successfully cast Armageddon in less than a month and a half and the other players allow it). Using this system, the longest possible outcome would be if a slower server successfully cast Armageddon one day after the 50% mark, resulting in roughly 6 months of play before the next reset. Possible yes. Likely not unless the players let it happen. Let the will of the players decide. Please make the proper preparations for the final battle on your server(s). Good luck, well see you at the top. Bead Customer Support Manager
