GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE is found in high concentrations and is critical to the integrity of joint tissues. The body uses glucosamine sulfate,a highly absorbable amino acid sugar, to stimulate cartilage synthesis which promotes joint repair. Recommended daily allowances for arthritis conditions are 500 mg. three times a day. Arthritis Foundation published an article in their Arthritis Today Oct. 98 issue, stating that pain level effects of glucosamine sulfate were similar to those of NSAIDs, but without the potential for dangerous side effects. For several years the medical profession has been aware of the problem of adverse drug reactions to non-steroidal drugs known as NSAIDs. In 1991 the American Medical Journal stated about NSAIDs: “The most prevalent serious drug toxicity in the United States is increasingly recognized as gastrointestinal pathology associated.”Approximately 76,000 hospitalizations occur each year in the US from gastrointestinal complications produced by NSAIDs. An estimated 41,000 hospital admissions and 3,300 deaths involving elderly people are attributed annually to NSAIDs.The most commonly used NSAID is aspirin, followed by ibuprofen and naproxen sodium.

The Journal of the American Medical Association and other leading medical publications, have reported that adverse reactions to prescription medical drugs are believed to be responsible for more than 100,000 deaths and 1.5 million hospitalizations each year.Medical authorities have continually cautioned physicians and patients regarding the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, known as "NSAIDs" for pain conditions. These pain relievers frequently cause ulcers, serious side effects, and even fatalities.

Drs. Stanley Jacob and Robert Hershler conducted studies of MSM for 30 years at the Oregon Health Sciences University and determined that it has a LD-50 (lethal dose) that is more than 20 gms / Kg body weight which compares to water. The doctors found improvement in many types of pain and inflammatory conditions including: degenerative arthritis, chronic back pain, chronic headache, muscle pain, fibromyalgia, tendinitis, and bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, allergies, and acid reflux (heartburn). They also did cancer studies that determined that MSM can delay the onset of cancerous tumors and can reduce the size of pre-existing tumors.

MSM is a nutritional mineral sulfur compound that can help normalize the body's immune system. MSM can be taken orally in powder, capsule, or tablet form and is also available in a moisturizing cream, lotion and cold sore solution for topical use. We have found that MSM should be taken orally at a minimum of 1 teaspoon per day to achieve the best possible results. For painful conditions such as joint pain, muscle pain, or skin irritations, a topical cream should be used along with the powder supplement.

The US Academy of Science's food and nutrition board do not consider sulfur on their list of minimum daily requirements, but physicians know a minimum level is essential to good health. Nutritionists recommend a daily intake of 4 to 20 grams of sulfur, which is comparable to 1 to 5 teaspoons of msm a day.

MSM has anti-inflammatory, pain-reducing properties. It can block pain response in nerve fibers and reduce scar tissue by altering the crosslinking process in collagen to allow tissue repair and healing to take place. It reduces lactic acid build up from anaerobic activity and has the ability to reduce or eliminate muscle, leg and back cramps.
MSM Pain Cream can help releive pain from minor skin irritations, lighten and smooth scar tissue, aid in treatment of skin conditions such as psoriasis and dermatitis, burns, sunburn, poison oak, muscle and joint pain.
MSM Anti-Wrinkle creams can aid in smoothing wrinkles, soften and lighten scar tissue, restore elasticity to the skin, aid in treatment of dermatitis, poison oak, minor burns, minor skin irritations, sunburn, and help to relieve pain.
