I'm a young photographer interested in using my Canon Powershot A70 to capture the essence of the world and express myself with meaningful images. So, what does fotofreak mean anyways? Well,to tell you about this I have to seperate the two words foto and freak, and spell the word photo correctly. Photo, meaning a light of or produced by light of a photograph or photography, and freak meaning any abnormal animal, person, or plant monstrosity. So I decided to put the two meanings together and make photofreak, or as I spell it fotofreak. I got my Powershot A70 camera on the 2003 christmas night opening presents. I was ssssoooo happy! I had been wishing for a digital camera for a very long time.(since summer 2003.) That summer we took a trip to Singapore with my dad's band. The first day we took a tour to a flower garden. It was beautiful. That's when I first decided to become a photographer. I also decided that I would take close up pictures. Now, alot of my pictures are close up but not all of them. I enjoy taking almost any kind of photo now, but I prefer nature. Just a couple days ago I had my first photography lesson. It was great! My teacher is really nice and we had alot of fun. For my first lesson we focused on texture in nature and on some manmade things. We focused an making a picture as simple as we could. That I think was a bit tricky. One thing he kept on telling me this: "Take pictures of things that people dont usually notice" For example on a concrete wall a crack with a spider in it. That was hard but fun. At the end we looked at all our pictures. Most of them turned out o.k. I'm really happy I started photography lessons.
